What You'll Learn

Robotics isn’t a subject you read about. Across ten units you’ll build and program working robotic systems from the ground up — the wiring, the circuits, the control logic and the code — then test them, work out why they don’t behave, and fix them.

You’ll start with the fundamentals: working safely with tools and electrical equipment, the electrotechnology basics of circuits, components and testing, and designing parts in CAD. From there you’ll configure and program a robotic system, build a digital circuit using a programmable logic device, and install and test by-wire and embedded control systems. The course finishes with a full integrated technologies project you run yourself.

No prerequisites, no entry test. Just a willingness to find out how things work.

Delivery

Our user friendly online learning platform and paperless assessments have been design to facilitate and maximise an activity outcome.

Training Support

  • AGI supplies the complete program through its online portal — learner guides, presentations, video and interactive resources, and all assessment material.
  • AGI’s training team supports your teacher throughout delivery, including guidance on unit sequencing, assessment and evidence requirements.
  • AGI’s administration team provides program support, including enrolment, portal access and systems assistance.
  • Your school continues to provide its own student support and wellbeing services.
  • Delivery operates under a written third-party agreement. AGI remains the registered training organisation, retains responsibility for the quality of training and assessment, and issues the qualification.

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements for this qualification. No entry test, no ATAR requirement, and no prior study needed.

It is recommended that students have language, literacy and numeracy skills at ACSF Level 2. Where a school would like one, AGI can arrange a pre-enrolment skills check.

The program is delivered in partnership with schools, so students enrol through their school rather than directly with AGI. It is available to students in Years 10, 11 and 12 at participating schools.
